Garageland & liveinyourlivingroom.com presented “THE SHOWCASE” live @ The Sugar Club, Thursday 14th June 2007. The first of six massive shows,it featured six of the very best unsigned bands in Ireland. The bands playing were Eyeslave, Corsairs, Colm Heaney & The Bad DJs, Karrier, Travega and Dali . I took photographs of the last band to hit the stage, Eyeslave, a five piece rock oufit from Drogheda, Co. Louth. Their excellent debut single "Rise "is out now.   Limerick band, Vesta Varro released their album "Exit Here" on Friday 8th June, 2007. To mark this they played a gig in HMV, Dublin and will be playing nationwide until early September. Among the five tracks they played was their current single off the album "Pyramid Clocks" which made Irish top 40 and "Weighted Love" which also featured on the Murphys Live 2007 compilation CD. Saturday 2nd June saw Heritage Centre play to a packed Whelans. This was no mean feat considering it was bank holiday weekend and huge throngs leave the capital. Presentation was second to none, with inflatable toys and all manner of props including a bubble making machine. This all added to the party atmosphere. The songs didn't disappoint either with the song "Stars in the City" in particular resonating in my ears. Check out this band soon, you won't be disappointed. Saturday 19th May @ Eamonn Dorans The eagerly awaited Jemson Green took to the stage with pounding drums, bass and guitar, they really rocked the place. Oozing with confidence Ronan (vocals) commanded the stage. They hail from Louth and they packed in a powerful rock performance with energetic front man, Shane on vocals. Their single "Rise" is out on Friday, 15th June. The two finalists played a storming set with very contrasting styles but it was Waterford band, ilya K who were crowned the winners much to the delight of their fans. Ilya K won a fantastic prize worth €10,000 that includes an EP launch with Fifa Records, studio recording time, a national distribution deal, full PR and a six month management deal.
