Aortal @ The Academy 19/03/08

Went to support Aortal at the battle of the bands in the Academy. The heats run on a Wednesday night and 60 bands have signed up to compete for the ultimate prize to play at "OXEGEN 2008". The winning band will also get their songs aired on the radio, and get €1000 recording time in Dublins top recording studios. For more info check out battleofthebands Unfortunately it was not Aortal's night with top honors going to Mob Fandango

The Thrills @ The Village Sat 28th July

The Flaws were the support act for The Thrills and the venue was already packed by the time they took to the stage. The audience gave them a warm reception as they belted out their songs including their new single "1981". Next up was The Thrills who went down a storm with the crowd. They played hits from their two albums "So Much For The City" and "Lets Bottle Bohemia" as well as tracks from their current Album "Teenager" including their classic new single "Nothing Changes Around Here". I got chatting to a guy who had come over all the way from Wales to the Village to see The Thrills. They finished with a great cover of "Dancing In The Dark" by Bruce Springsteen. The Flaws @ The Village Sat 28th July

The Flaws have played a number of support slots for The Thrills throughout the country and Saturday night they did the honors again. They played to a packed Village and received an enthusiastic response from the crowd. The Flaws have just recently released their single " 1981 " and their debut album " Achieving Vagueness" is out on the 14th of September.
