Next up was James O'Toole and Band. James, a Dublin based musician has just released his debut album "Twentyfirst Century Man" independently which features 10 tracks. His influences range from Gospel, Leonard Cohen, John Lennon, Antony and The Johnsons to Jeff Buckley. Lovemusichatewar - Dave Lordan

The lovemusichatewar gig was held on Wednesday 29th August in Eamonn Dorans. It had an exciting line up, Dave Lordan, JD Thompson, Robotnik and James O'Toole and his band . There was a disappointing turnout which was a shame as this is a worthy cause. While I was there I was handed a leaflet regarding the "Raytheon 9". Basically, on the 9th August members of the Derry Anti-War Coalition occupied and decomissioned the offices of US-based weapons manufacturer Raytheon in Derry, N Ireland. Nine protestors including well known journalist Eamonn McCann have been charged under the Terrorism Act with aggravated burglary and unlawful assembly and face lengthy jail sentences if convicted. They need the support of the entire anti-war movement. Their non-violent direct action was in protest at the involvement of Raytheon in supplying the weapons used in bombing Lebanon, Iraq and Afganistan.
